Syeda Malaika Ali
Syeda Malaika Ali is a 17-year-old political leader who plans on pursuing a career pathway in Economics and/or Finance with a secondary in Mathematics and Political Science.
As a Senior at Lake Balboa College Preparatory Magnet K-12, Malaika serves as the voice of her school. Utilizing the knowledge from her two consecutive Student Council Presidential terms, Malaika was elected as the Associated Student Body President in which she manages a school budget close to $65,000 and advocates the needs of around 600 student to various LAUSD councils.
Malaika has actively immersed herself in California's government at the State, City, and Legal level throughout high school. During her internship with Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel, she spearheaded legislative research and education funding reform while directly assisting over 1,000 constituents through events and calls. At Councilwoman Traci Park’s office, she proposed a financial literacy motion to uplift underserved communities and regularly engaged with hundreds of residents to address their concerns. Her time at Sarkissian Law Group sharpened her legal research skills, where she guided clients through complex processes and organized large-scale office events.
Driven by her belief that knowledge is the foundation of empowerment, Malaika is deeply committed to making education accessible to women and children worldwide. She passionately advocates for educational equity and financial independence by leveraging her experiences in leadership. She hopes to inspire others to join her mission in creating lasting change in underserved communities.
